FOBS

At Bridgerule Church of England Primary School, we have an active PTFA called Friends of Bridgerule School (FOBS). This group is open to any parent/carer with a child at the school as well as any member of staff or Governor, or indeed anybody wishing to be part of our school community. The idea is to work closely with the school to support financially in any area that will benefit all the children.

The committee meets every half term to discuss school requests and organise future fundraising events. Funds are raised through annual events such as the village Ramble and BBQ, sponsored events, bingo, raffles and regular cake and pre-loved uniform sales. FOBS often organises fun events for the children such as Easter Egg hunts, school discos and Christmas parties or pantomimes. We also provide hoodies, gifts and memory books for the Y6 leavers.

FOBS funds are allocated to each class to spend on equipment or trips as needed. We sometimes apply for grants from local organisations to fund larger items. In recent years, FOBS has funded:

  • the Outdoor Classroom
  • Mud kitchen
  • Outdoor play equipment
  • Netball posts
  • Ipads
  • Polytunnel

The group is always welcoming to new members and fresh fundraising ideas, as well as donations of any sort. Without the combination of this group, supportive family and friends, along with close liaisons with the school, the children would not benefit from some of these wonderful extra activities to support their learning at school.

We have a brilliant team and are always looking for new members to come and join us; we are a friendly bunch and new ideas are always welcome. If anyone is interested in joining, please don’t hesitate to enquire in the office.
